        <summary>Das Maerchen vom „Schwarzkaeppchen“

Was willst du mit zwei Nieren?

        <summary>What a fantastic year it's been for 9Lies!

It was the year which saw the 'Behind It All' album being released to critical acclaim, with massive radio airplay around the globe, and all without a record company being involved! It was also the year which saw the song 'Blind' being snapped up by Warner Brothers, and 'Behind it All' the title track from the album finding a new home as theme tune to reality tv show 'Our Prisoner' in the USA. We've been beamed up and down from satellites around the world more times than we care to remember.

In the last 6 months alone 9Lies have travelled to Poland to play the Vena Music Festival to thousands of screaming fans, licensed a song (We R1) to Techno Sweat for use on their exercise Music CD's, 18000 people joined us on our 2 International Myspace sites and in the last 3 months we've gathered over 900 groupies since joining the Bebo social networking site, with fans placing our songs on over 1500 of their play lists!

The Song 'Slippin Away' has not only been downloaded online during the last year more than 29,000 times, but has more recently been chosen by ASCAP for excellence in song writing at the ASCAP Music Expo 07 in L.A.
Download sales on digital sites such as iTunes and Rhapsody have remained strong, as have Material Worldwide CD sales from our Online Music Store, and all of this is down to you! Thank you!!

It doesn’t end there though! The new album 'Halfway from Nowhere' is almost finished and sounding absolutely fantastic!! If you haven't already done so, then join the 9Lies Mailing list for free, to be kept up to date and receive free member offers!

        <summary>Monday - Feb. 16th through Wednesday - Feb. 18th

On Monday Luke and I got to “Studio D” at about 1:30 PM. We ate lunch and got started on “Helpless Evidence”. We were able to get through about half the song before we had to quit for the night. It was a pretty good day as far as progress is concerned. We really liked how the bass sound was turning out on all the songs so far and this one was no exception. We decided we needed to record Tuesday and Wednesday because we couldn’t record any other day this week. Luke has to work doubles and he’s having family come in from out of town to visit this weekend so we won’t be able to record bass again till next Monday.

Tuesday we got started at about 2 PM. We continued on “Helpless” and ended up finishing the song at about 5 PM. We still had a few add-ins to do on “My Only Obsession” and “Another Day in Paradox”. There’s an effect called Bass Balls that Luke uses on those two songs. One part he has to click the pedal on and off for the riff so we decided to just cut in those parts just to make sure they're all nice and clean for the CD. The other part was the end of “My Only Obsession” where Luke and Billy finish the song by themselves. We got both of the parts done exactly at the time that we had to stop for the night. So just like that, Luke has two songs to finish for the CD and he’s done.

On Wednesday Luke and I listened to &quot;7 and 10&quot; and decided that we wanted to redo both of our tracks again. &quot;7 and 10&quot; is one of the 5 songs we recorded in 2007 before Mark quit and also technically before Billy was in the band officially. The five songs were pretty much Billy’s tryout for the band. We told him if he could get them done he’s in the band. We had been waiting for over 6 months for those songs to get done. We had Roadrunner Records waiting for the songs to be done as well. We were in the middle of getting the songs done when Mark quit so we pretty much put the recording to the side till we got a singer and we also decided to write more songs. Six of which will be on the CD.

So I deleted Luke’s old tracks and we started with a clean slate. We ended up getting all the way to about the 5:15 mark of the song. We ran out of time today, so we’ll have to continue on Monday. Thanks for checking in with the progress of the CD. It’s getting there man! </summary>

<summary>Attila Kovacs comes along once in a lifetime. This Danish genius writes a song that is so good, that we lose our minds. We don't know why this happens once in a while, but we suspect it is plainly because the music is so esoterically &amp; pro-attractively creative, as to be lost &amp; found in the post modern atmosphere of the 21st century

&quot;UFO Lady&quot; is so hopefully intrinsic &amp; heart felt like nothing since; The song we heard way back in the 70's or 80's that was so fantastically great is like this song. Via horns to composition ; Synthesis to vocal arrangement; Compositional lyrical zeal &amp; subtle ultra melodic underpinnings that are faultlessly &amp; unendingly brilliant. This is Attila Kovacs. So far beyond genre style let alone history, that it's a vague notion it affects his musical roots; Though he may differ, when he allows us to interview him.

This Danish sleeping giant is a mainstream hero of the independent European, Asian &amp; American underground, who intrinsically through his music transmigrates to every sonic plateau that one could audio-rainbow-sonically imagine; All men, woman &amp; beings of the universe.

In post orgasmic meltdown, Attila reached the shores of the pure land of pop. There one finds an amazing breathtaking majesty, nuance &amp; all too subtle coersion in his muse. His purely beatific talent &amp; manifestation of art via modern pop music is Attila Kovacs in his everyday muse in the three dimensional temporal world. Unbelievable, but true.

The fact that as abstract artist prone to independence within the framework of commerce; Attila Kovacs has all of the humility &amp; unspoken valor that populate a man of complex emotional, exotic &amp; imaginative senses. In song, life , love, philosophy &amp; presence of soul, Attila simply stuns.

Attila Kovacs music, is so purely joyful from the perspective of the soul that lasts forever; Its innate bliss &amp; ecstasy is imbibed through the artistry &amp; talent of Attila. We just listened to the sample of &quot;UFO&quot; a million times; Essentially we are musically satisfied until we find another fascinating tune from Attila Kovacs &quot;UFO Lady&quot; is the beginning of a long line of past &amp; future spotlights, highlights ; Leading to a visionary, altruistic, plethora of dynamics &amp; musical passion, that is eternally-Kovacs.

We are on board of a musical sonic Nirvana. From dimensional planets &amp; systems of infinity; Surely perpetuated by such stone God-good artists as Attila Kovacs, let us journey onward. Attila Kovacs based upon &quot;UFO&quot; alone; Decidedly delightful &amp; promising in work of art. Wimsical &amp; deep at the same time, as life is on this world. Attila's work is a charming fanciful feat of panoramic subtle craftsmanship &amp; adoration. An absolute gem of a pop tune. We are basically speechless.

        <summary>Das Maerchen vom „Weisskaeppchen“

        <summary>Monday - Feb. 9th through Saturday - Feb. 14th

On Monday, Luke and I were more than ready to get going on “My Only Obsession”. We started a little later than we wanted, but we still got the song done with two hours to spare. Since we had some time to chill and get ready to start another song, we decided to start “Through a Maggots Eye”. We eventually got going and ended up getting through about 1 minute of the song before we had to stop for the night.

We decided to do tracks on Tuesday so Luke would be able to spend time with his wife for her birthday on Wednesday. We got to The Duke’s at about 2 PM. We continued doing takes of “Maggots Eye” till our buddy Steve showed up to say hi. Shortly after that Billy showed up from work. Once we got done talking for a while, we eventually got back to what we were doing. By the end of the day Luke had gotten through about 7 minutes of the song. This song is looking to be about 10:15 long. We’ll have the rest to do on Saturday.

Saturday was a little bit of a rushed day. We didn’t get started till about 3 PM and we had to stop by 4 so Luke could get ready for work. We got through a good amount of the song considering how much time we had.

Sunday was a nice long day of recording. Luke picked me up at about 12:30 PM and we didn’t stop till about 6 PM. Luke was able to finish up “Through a Maggots Eye”. So now all he has left is “Helpless Evidence”, “A Word for Pain &amp; Suffering, and half of “XVII (7 and 10)” from the last recording sessions that were never finished because of everything that happened with our singer situation and whatnot. We’ll be back at it Monday to start “Helpless Evidence”. </summary>

        <summary>Monday - Feb. 2nd through Saturday - Feb. 8th

On Monday Luke and I decided to get started on “The Shallows”. After setting up and talking about what we want to get accomplished for the day, we eventually got started at about 2 PM. I have to do all the camera work whenever Jam isn’t around. Fun times, man. Jam and Billy ended up getting to Luke’s at about 3:30 to help me out and just be there to support whoever is doing their tracks. That’s something we never used to do when we recorded and I think it’s made a difference in everyone’s performance so far. I know I loved the experience. By time 7 PM had rolled around, Luke had gotten through about half the song.

Wednesday was here before I knew it and I found myself at “Studio D” once again recording “The Shallows” with fuckin Luke. It was a good day to say the least. It was probably our most productive day, so far, in my opinion. We got “The Shallows” finished in about an hour and we decided to start on “Successfully Buried in Bison”. We ended up finishing the song right at 7 PM. The next two days I spent editing bass tracks and getting a much needed break from “do it again”. Those of you who have recorded know exactly what I’m talking about.

Saturday was a little bit of a rushed day. Jam couldn’t find his keys till about 2 PM when he called me to tell me that he couldn’t find them. I asked him if he checked his car and he said no. I’ll give you one guess where it was. Once we got there, we decided to start “My Only Obsession”. Luke had to go to work at 5, so we didn’t have much time to do tracks. We ended up getting about 2 minutes into the song. We’ll get much more done on Monday since we won’t be rushed. </summary>
